FLAIR Hyperintensities Quantification

Firstly integrated in QuantEmTool (QET).
Applied in lesion load analysis in Multiple Sclerosis, it has also been tested in Traumatic Brain Injury datasets.
Current features entail:

  • Transversal and Longitudinal Analysis
  • Detailed results for 5 topographic areas: Deep gray matter, Cortical, Sub-cortical, Periventricular & Infratentorial
  • Distinction in shrinking, mantained and enlarging regions

Global Brain Atrophy

Mostly used in Multiple Sclerosis research, particularly useful to research the progressive course.
Initally integrated in QET, it provides an overall overview of brain atrophy.
Current features entail:

  • Transversal and Longitudinal Analysis
  • Gray matter, White matter and Cerebrospinal fluid quantification
  • Brain parenchymal fraction & global atrophy percentile

Local Atrophy

Used to characterise patients with suspected dementia, it is currently being tested in Multiple Sclerosis research.
It also has the potential to assist in the diagnosis of conditions like epilepsy and Mesial Temporal Sclerosis.
Current features entail:

  • Transversal and Longitudinal Analysis of subcortical structures
  • Analysis of cortical thickness, area and volume
